We celebrated our Open Day on Monday, October 3, with around 20,000 visitors. It was a celebration for the whole family, which took place in glorious sunshine.
In her welcoming speech, Police Commissioner Friederike Zurhausen thanked all the helpers, especially external helpers such as colleagues from the equestrian squadron, the Police Revolution dance group, the state police orchestra, the police gymnastics team, the Technical Emergency Unit (TEE) and other supporters such as the THW.
The crowd-pullers were the demonstrations by the equestrian squadron, divers, gymnasts and height rescuers, but the historic police vehicles and water cannon also attracted visitors in their droves.
The detention center was "bursting at the seams" with visitors and the new exhibition on the history of our authority was also well attended. Not only our recruitment consultants used the day to inform interested parties, numerous departments presented themselves and their work in a clear and informative way. There was also a lot on offer for children.
To mark the anniversary, Recklinghausen Police Department published an anniversary booklet on the history of the authority and interesting facts about the development of the police, as well as a video. The booklet and video are linked on this page - as is a report from the ceremony on the anniversary of the founding of Recklinghausen Police Headquarters.
